Felix the Cat was the first cartoon to express an individual personality in drawings that move. The producer of the films, Pat Sullivan, claimed all the credit for creating and developing Felix the Cat, but, unbeknownst to the public, it was Sullivan's shy Production Manager, Otto Messmer, who created Felix, animated him and directed over 200 of his films in fourteen years. This film tells Messmer's story.
