CALENDAR

Atom Egoyan, (The Adjuster, Family Viewing, Next of Kin, Speaking Path, seen at previous MFFs) has departed from his usual urban-based, psychological concerns and journeyed to his ancestral homeland of Armenia to shoot Calendar, a low budget meditation on the nature of separation and national identity. The film slowly develops the essentials of its storyline with methodical precision, using striking, mixed-media visual motifs, (video and 16mm) and has a lot of fun with dry, comic touches on the way.
