Join a stirring discussion about empathetically exploring end of life on screen as well as the wider assisted-dying movement.

With the superb documentary Man on Earth as its focal point, this MIFF Talks event delves into the challenges and intimacies of both capturing end of life on screen, and discusses the wider assisted-dying movement. Having premiered in the international competition of this year’s Sheffield DocFest, Man on Earth captures the dignity of death with emotional and uncompromising honesty, and raises many questions as it explores voluntary assisted dying, a topic that is close to the heart of many Australians.

Hosted by Michael Williams (editor of The Monthly) and featuring director Amiel Courtin-Wilson (Ruin, MIFF 2014; Bastardy, MIFF 2008), Dr Nick Carr (GP and Dying With Dignity Victoria board member) and Professor Louise Keogh (Professor in Health Sociology, University of Melbourne).
