Each year in May, Gypsies from all over Europe converge upon an isolated village in the Camargue, France, to hold a festival to their patron saint, Sara. Swamped by over 100,000 people, the town gives itself over to two days and nights of ceaseless festivity. The film is both an objective and impressionistic record of the events, showing both the secular and religious aspects of this unique festival.
