Director Priit Tender’s (Bird Flu, MIFF 2016) impeccably realised Dog Apartment, which was inspired by surrealist writer Andres Ehin’s eponymous poem and produced by the world’s oldest still-running stop-motion company, depicts a dour post-Soviet landscape where ravenous hunger is never sated for long.
